Steakhouse Bryggeriet, Ystad

Ystad, Sweden — If you happen to be in the Southern parts of Sweden and feel like daytrip where you can combine shopping, sightseeing, sunbathing and beaches with a visit to the local brewery. Then the Steakhouse Brewery in Ystad is the place to visit.

The Steakhouse Brewery is located in the centre of Ystad, only a 10 min walk from the train station. The Brewery is located inside a half-timbered building from the 18th century, with a nice open-air courtyard. Inside the building you will find the two copper boilers, which creates a unique and relaxing atmosphere.

The Steakhouse Brewery is famous to brew “Ysta Fresh Beer”, beer that is unpasteurized when served.

You can buy the beer as pale, dark or 50/50. The strength is 4,8% abv.

There is also a pale version at 2,8% abv.

If you are not a fan of that kind of beer style there is no need to worry. They do have other options.

The beer menu at the moment includes:

Weltenburger Klosterbier Barock-Hell

Weltenburger Klosterbier Barock-Dunkel

Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock

Anno 1050

Baron Trenck

Carlsberg Hof

Non-alcoholic beer.

Other options includes:

Cider – Briska

White wine – Uma Chardonnay. Fleur du Cap Chardonnay

Sparkling wine – Prossecco La Robina, Pommert Brut Royal

Red wine – UMA Bornada, L. Felipe Edwards Merlot, Woodbridge Zinfandel, Solaz Tempranillo/Cab Sauv, Fleur du Cap Shiraz, Bolla Amarone Classica, Adobe Cabernet Sauvignon.

Rosé Wine – Solaz Rosado

I also recommend eating at the restaurant as they serve very good steaks. I did enjoy the planked steak with a 50/50 Ysta Fresh Beer.

The service is good and friendly and the prices are ok.

avatar Who am I? A nerd that is passionate about eating good food in combination with the “right” drink ;-) Always ready to try out a new drink, it may be a new beer or a glass of homemade rice wine, depending on the situation and the location. I have to confess I have a weakness for Asian cuisine, white wines, IPA’s, barley wine, malt whisky and soju. But that doesn’t stop me from being open-minded! I am a Sommelier with an exam from Gustibus – Sommerlierskolan (Malmö, Sweden), and (hopefully) a WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits.
